A Book for the Martyr Scientist, Mustafa Chamran

Navideshahed: the 7th volume of the 14-voluem series book ‘Zebr Al-Hadid 7; Mustafa Chamran’ has been authored by Hussein Vahabiyan and released by the international Publication ‘Al-Hoda’ and is devoted to the Iranian martyr scientist ‘Dr. Mustafa Chamran’. This series book has been published in Arabic and English languages.

The book ‘Zebr Al-Hadid 7; Mustafa Chamran’ narrates the biography of martyr ‘Mustafa Chamran’; it also expresses the ups and downs of the life of this great martyr when he was living in Iran, United States of America, Egypt and Lebanon. The scientific, political and guerilla activities of him until the martyrdom moment during the Imposed War of Iraq against Iran have been briefly described in the book too.

The book consists of 6 chapters and the titles of the chapters are as follows: ‘Mustafa Chamran’, ‘The Disable Iran and Ambition years’, ‘In the United States of America; scientist, fighter and lover’, ‘Lebanon a sea of pains’, ‘Iran; Islamic Revolution and Awakening movement’ and ‘Eternity’.
Mustafa Chamran was born in 1932 in Tehran city. In 1957, he graduated from technical college of Tehran University with the first position. After that he worked as a university professor for a year and then he went to the United States of America to continue his education. He got his Master Degree within one year with an excellent grade from A&M University of Texas State and after that he went to Berkeley University located in California to get his PhD.

Berkeley University was one of the biggest universities of the United States of America in the field of Engineering at the time and the best and greatest scientists of Physics and Electricity would teach in that university. Mustafa Chamran during three years was able to accomplish the program of Electronics and Plasma Physics and to get his PhD degree from this university.

But Mustafa Chamran despite of having the option to stay in the United States of America and to use many facilities did not wish to stay there, that is why his presence in Lebanon created a new era of his lifetime. He left what he had in the United States of America and he went to Lebanon in order to be with Imam Musa Sadr and to live in South Lebanon as an anti-Zionist fighter.

When Imam Khomeini returned to Iran in 1979, Dr. Chamran along with some of the leaders of Resistance from Lebanon met with Imam Khomeini in Iran. After this visit, he decided to return to Lebanon, but the newly founded government of Iran made him to stay in Iran and after that he was appointed as the Deputy of the former Prime Minister to do the affairs of Revolution.

When the crisis in Kurdistan province intensified, martyr Chamran wore the military uniform and he fought against the anti-revolutionary militants in the villages of Kurdistan province. He was the plenipotentiary representative of the government in solving the crisis. But Dehlaviyeh should be considered as a climax of martyr Chamran’s sacrifices.

At the beginning of the Imposed War of Iraq against Iran, the village ‘Dehlaviyeh’ close to Soosangerd was a place where conflicts took place between Iranian and Iraqi forces. After the martyrdom of the commander of this zone, Chamran went to this place in order to determine the new commander and to review the situation in person, but three explosions took place near him and he was martyred.
